I am a descendant of Curtis Bates Hawley b. 21 Jan 1840 Kalida, Putnam, OH son of Richard Hawley b. 1790-1800 m. Fidelia Esther Gorman 1823 in Medina,OH. We are searching for Richard's parents. A daughter listed both her parents as being from CT. From

and I know through documents I have that William B. Shields was living in Live Oak Co. Texas somewhere around 1856, and probably later on was in Matamors Mexico for a time some of his first Children were there and he and Jane A. had some kids , also have
any land search records from an area of Bexar on the line of Bexar and Atacosa known in the 1860's 70's and 80's as Pocites. A Lafayette Robinson and wife Ella Robinson transferred their title to Josiah Taylor date Oct 31, 1884 .
If you have any more history on this family and live oak Co. and would share it with me I would love to connect Jane A. to these Taylors if possable and learn more of the history.

I'm the youngest son ("late in life baby") of the late Denven E Wilburn and the late Dena B Moore Wilburn. I was born in Houston, TX in 1960, both of my parents died in 1972.
I have 3 sisters and 1 brother, I'm not sure if my siblings want their names on a Web Page so here's some general information about them:
Sister #1 was born in 1943 in Houston, TX
Sister #2 was born in 1944 in Joaquin, TX
Sister #3 & Brother are twins born in 1952 in Houston, TX
Denven E. Wilburn was the eldest of 3 boys (all are now deceased; born in Haslam, TX in 1908; to "Bud" & "Bertie" Wilburn; and was the only one of their children known to have children.
Bud's real name was Elsberry (I'm not sure of the spelling); was born around 1890 and died in 1960 the month before I was born.
Family talk leads me to believe that Bud & Bertie might have been 2nd or 3rd cousins (Bertie being a Wilburn before marriage).
I remeber meeting a few of Denven's cousins at his funeral in August of 1972 and seem to remember that they lived throughout East Texas, including Center, San Augustine, Nacogdoches, Houston and Beaumont. Unfortunately, I remember only 2 of the names of
he Cousins: Ross Wilburn & Leo Wilburn; there was also a decendent of one of the cousins named Carroll Wilburn.
I'm just curious about my roots as my children are becoming old enough to wonder about any distant Wilburn family they may have.

I am interested in your research into the M. G. Wilborn who lived in Tallahatchie Co. in 1850. I understand that the Minter household in which this Wilborn was living was that of his sister, who was the wife of James Minter, for whom Minter City, Miss.,
as named. My great-grandmother was Lily May Wilbourn, whose Wilbourns were early settlers in the vicinity of Hardy, Miss., in what is now Grenada Co. All these Wilbourn/Wilborns were from South Carolina. Lily May Wilbourn's great-grandmother Carrie Hud
on Wilbourn is buried at Hardy. She came to Mississippi from Edgefield Dist., S.C., in the 1830s where her husband William Wilbourn had died leaving a will. I suspect all these Wilborn/Wilbourns are close kin -- just am not yet sure how.
